It’s off to work I go!
Today is my first day of work at the museum. I’m anxious and excited and nervous. I can’t imagine why, it’s only been seven years since I had a regular job outside the home. Oh and it’s been a particularly long summer with the hoodlums. So that could have something to do with the anticipation of getting away from the house for five hours, four days a week.
But hey, I got my hair cut yesterday, and it’s kind of sassy and cute, so I’m ready. Everyone knows, that all a woman really needs to start a new job is a new haircut, and some new clothes to project a professional image, right?
Wish me luck, ya’ll.
Wait a minute. What’s that? The phone is ringing?
What? Don’t come into work today?
The museum is currently under renovation and there is no place for me to work right now? Stay home until further notice?
Ok. But I’m on the payroll?
All righty then!
I was really looking forward to going in today. I’m kind of disappointed. It’s not really about whether I’m getting paid (although the little bit of money I’ll be getting, will be nice for Christmas and birthdays).
Did I mention it’s been SEVEN YEARS? Sigh…one more day at home with all the spawn before school starts tomorrow.
The question is, will I survive?

Thanks everyone! I went in for a little bit this afternoon to check out the construction and I’m meeting with one of the other girls who works there tomorrow afternoon so we can go over a couple of things. But otherwise, I’m in limbo until the construction is over with–hopefully next week!
