I have a lot to accomplish this summer. No lazy slacker summer for this house. There is just too much to do–besides play and workout on the wii fit all day (I’m limiting that time to 60-90 minutes a day and loving the results so far).
So far this summer, I have cleaned the kids’ rooms and moved the youngest boy into the oldest boy’s room. Then we hung planets from the boys’ bedroom ceiling and decorated the girl’s bedroom walls with Cinderella wall stickers.
We moved my book cases and file cabinets from our bedroom to the youngest boy’s former bedroom and now that my desk and desktop computer have been moved out of the living room and upstairs it’s officially an office where I hope to get my Masters Thesis written over the next two months.
Last night I rearranged the living room to arrange the furniture so that it is more conversation friendly and to open up the space closer to the TV for Wii play. Note the Wii Fit balance board still in the floor from earlier this afternoon.
We have priorities in this house.
I still have to light a fire under Snoring Daddy’s behind to get him to clean off his desk and get it moved into the office so that I can rearrange the Master Bedroom and finally make it into the retreat I’ve always wanted.
And today I set up the pool and it is filling with water as I type this post.
I’ve also been trying to get my overgrown garden under control. Yikes!
Look! I got about 3 feet of it weeded the other day!
In between those major projects the kids have played outside in the water and the sand box and played indoors with a myriad of toys and occasionally I break down and get the playdough out until the first meltdown over who won’t share the rolling pin or the doggy cookie cutter:
Meanwhile I have a few crafty projects I’m working on too. I’ve been resisting this obnoxious Rooster flower pot for over two years and I’ve finally broken down.
My sister-in-law got her kiln hooked back up after we moved last Summer. We no longer had the room to store it and she found a space for it at her house and has been using it there. I haven’t painted in over a year and this is my first ceramic-painting project in a very long time.
I’m starting back with class aren’t I?
Don’t answer that.

Wow! You’ve been busy.
The rooster, it’s. . .unique. It reminds me of Longhorn Leghorn or whatever his name was on Looney Toons.

threeundertwo, I know, I thought it reminded me a bit of Foghorn Leghorn too but I’m not painting it like him. I like a lot more color than that. He’s gonna be funky by the time I fiinished.
By the way, I am SO not into chickens but this guy cracks me up.
Wow, any interest in coming to my house to light a fire under me? Today was supposed to be my day to do all those kinds of things but life interfered and none of it has been done. Maybe in the next couple hours I’ll get something done?
And my doesn’t the Playdough removal sound familiar! Glad I’m not the only mom who takes away toys if they are argued over.
Oh and found you via AllMediocre!

I kinda think he’s fab in his own goofy sort of way. If you paint him wacky colors and add some dots he’d sell to some over the top interior designer as a “classic” piece. lol
