Introductions and an ultimatum

The aquarium was my mother’s day gift. I’ve always admired aquariums but never been able to keep one clean or the fish alive for long. I’m now learning what I did wrong—a lot of things. Apparently you need a degree in Chemistry to keep these things healthy. Well maybe not a degree, but you at least need to understand the basics you were taught in high school. Which I did NOT.

You can see a few of the aquarium’s occupants in the lower right section–it appears they are checking Mo out as much as he is check them out.

Mo meet the Gold Barbs. Barbs meet Mo.

Mo and the aquarium

As for an update on the kittens, I love these guys and I really don’t want to separate them, but if they don’t get the litter box figured out soon they are outta here.

In this photo they are 10 weeks old. Next week they will be 12 weeks old.

each of us turned the thermometer up and woke up in the morning and all but two had kicked it.

  • Burfica,
Wow! 40? That’s a lot of cooked fish. Ultimately I want to get a larger aquarium one of these days. I really like the cichlids and such but I want to have a community and I know that’s just not possible with cichlids–at least not easy anyway.

    Mike,
That is exactly what I have been doing this week. They get to come out until I find that one of them has done their business in the wrong place then back in the bathroom with the four of them. So far they have been out all day today. I’m hoping they finally got it figured out!

LOVE aquariums! Had a 20 gallon about 10 years ago but it had to go when I moved in here. Gave it away to a family with little ones to enjoy watching the fishes swim.

When I was a single stressed mom I often would turn off all lights except for the aquarium one, then lie on the couch and watch the fish swim and play. It was very relaxing to do. Cheap TV? hehe No cable bill! Woot. FishTV! All fish, all the time!

My husband had an aquarium till we moved to our new house. He was just burned out on taking care of it. They are a lot of work, but they are so beautiful! Good luck with yours!

  • Fishies! Mom felt the same way, but the chemestry is efun tuffer wif a 1.5 gallon tank. She says, get a test strip kit an the pH+ AND pH- stuff. An don’t get Malaysian Trumpet Snails. They took ofur an insteada cleanin the tank, made it worsed.

Our kittens always camed litter-trained by their mammas, but Mom’s herd it’s good to take sum of the mess an put it in the litter box to kinda show them it goes there.

We lost our Bonnie-cat suddenly this week. In her honor, it’s a weekend hugathon fur efurryone to hug thems friends NOW, cuz you nefur know. ((((HUGS))))

I enjoyed an aquarium years ago but finally handed it off because it seemed like someone in there died every week. My son is lobbying for turtles because his favorite aunt has two she wants to fob off on us.

Great pic of Mo and the Barbs (and good band name if ever you need one)!
