I’m in love with you. Seriously I am. You are so awesome. You played hard to get for a very long time. Harder than most, but once we had you, you were totally worth every penny of the inflated price we paid for you at that pawn shop after Christmas.
Our family has spent hours playing together with you. Bowling is still my favorite. But there is so much more than just Bowling. There’s tennis, baseball, and Boxing.
Now you’ve brought Wii Fit into our lives. Without Wii Fit I would never have the joy of watching my husband argue with a video game program about his BMI. He cursed and sputtered as you informed him that not only was he overweight but obese. To add insult to injury you plumped up his Mii to reflect your diagnosis. He was not happy about that, by the way. At all. Because, and I quote, “I am not that plump! NOT NICE.”
Then you tested his center of balance and asked if he often tripped over his own feet. He felt that comment was a bit harsh by the way, but not nearly as harsh as when you informed him his Wii Fit Age was 46. For the record, he would like you to know that he turns 32 tomorrow. I just want to make sure you know this, because I’m not sure his yelling it at the Television screen transmitted it as effectively as he would have liked.
But rather than gathering up his toys, shutting you off, and stomping off to find something else to do, he soldiered on. Between you and me, I think he enjoys the challenge. In fact, he’s determined to prove you wrong.
I watched him do step aerobics. Something that has never happened before in his life. He ran a race, he skied slalom, walked a tight rope, did strength training, and YOGA. All while I looked around warily, waiting for lightning to strike.
And now, it’s my turn. But I’m password locking my weight. Trust me, nobody needs to know that.

OK, I really need a Wii Fit. Not only because I really need it myself, but because I too could witness such a scene starring MY husband.

Ok, I was considering getting Wii Fit and now I’m wondering how much insult I will be able to tolerate from the damn thing. And DUDE, it plumps up your Mii? Nuh-uh!
But I have to say reading about your husband’s reaction did give me a good laugh. LOL

My dad bought a Wii (this in itself is a miracle, we didn’t have a Tv until I was 13) I love the Bowlng, I hate golf! Can’t wait for the Wii Fit.

Just want to clarify. The Wii isn’t THAT insulting. It’s actually pretty diplomatic and gentle. Except for the whole “tripping” remark. That was a bit sarcastic.
Hello there!
I just stumbled upon this entry and read it to my wife. Not five minutes before I sat down to start stumbling, I had the same experience with Wii Fit. I too am accepting the challenge…no glorified bath scale is gonna make a monkey outta me!!
More power to your husband!
It sounds like a fun way to get fit for the whole family. I have been hearing about this a lot lately but you have convinced me to get one.

This is really really cute! And it makes me want a Wii, even though I’ve never played a video game before.

LOL…just stumbled across this post today. Love your writing style. And love the WIi also. Off to play Wii Fit as you’ve inspired me to fire up the Wii this afternoon.
As I told you before, we have too much in common. I love our Wii! We also bought ours at a pawn shop after Christmas. It had never been opened and the owner did not want to give the family what they thought it was worth. We hooked up with 3 extra games, the Nerf set, an extra controller and a nunchuck. The family had an emergency come up and had to have the money. I felt terrible for them, but the shop owner was going to take them for a ride, we overheard everything while we were inside. He even came outside and told us to leave that we couldn’t make a “transaction” on his property. What a jerk. They really were having a hard time.
We have since bought another controller, another nerf set and nun chuck. Our family has had so much fun bowling and golfing. it is great family time together. I am an avid golf player so it is fun playing with my daughter on Tiger Woods, especially with the nerf add-ons. We are getting Wii Fit tomorrow. (it is a late mother’s day present) LOL I know it wasn’t out on Mother’s Day, but somehow I wound up with Mario Kart….suspicious, very suspicious, but fun anyway. Also, you can get We Skii to use the balance board with. that seems like that will be cool. Will keep you posted on the wii fit. happy memorial day weekend, your favorite stumbler! LOL

I love my Wii Fit, and I blogged about it last week. For the record, my age was way over my real age the first day, but right on target the second time I did it. It’s easy to improve.
What surprises me, is how much my kids are enjoying it! One daughter loves the yoga, and my son loves the skiing and tightrope walking, the other daughter loves the running. It’s a great investment.

I have been thinking about getting a Wii for me, i meant the kids. I just cant bring myself to pay for another game system when we have so many already. But that Fit sounds like alot of fun. Makes me really want the Wii now. LOL
BTW, ive been lurking for a while now, thought id post and say, “HI!” =)

I have only been on the Wii Fiit once, and it certainly looks interesting. I will probably get one in the next couple of months. Someone told me the other day that the Wii Fiit gave them an age of 76. What was odd though si that they are only in their early twenties, and not in bad shape really. If it told me that, it would end through the window.
All good fun though, and a great wii accessory.
