We spent the weekend moving the three and half year old’s bed and toys into the six and half year old’s bedroom. I’ve cleaned, I’ve sorted, I’ve moved furniture (with the help of Snoring Daddy), and I’ve thrown away two trash bags full of broken toys, granola bar wrappers, and school papers.
In the process we came across our oldest boy’s stash. . . and a glimpse into the future.
Snoring Daddy, “Boy, what’s this tucked up under your mattress?”
Boy, “What? It’s my Highlights. I didn’t want Mommy to throw it away.”
Someone remind me not to go snooping under his bed during his teen years. That’s Snoring Daddy’s job from now on.

Son was taking forever to get to the dinner table one night … nobody eats till all are seated (out of respect) so I was getting pretty hungry. Went on a hunt and found him coming out of the bathroom. Asked him “why were you in there for so long?”
Husband replied “You never ask a 13 year old boy why he was in the bathroom for so long.”
