A blessing of simple pleasures

It’s been a week of ups and downs and after all that has happened I need to cling to each of my blessings, beginning with my kids and husband. And here’s a reminder from one of my menagerie of the joy each of them continues to bring to my family every single day.

This past week–after over four years of living in this big, bad, wonderful world–Charles discovered the joy of being a cat in a sink.

Charles in the sink

He’s such a pro, it’s hard to imagine it’s his first time.

I’ll probably be silent for the remainder of the weekend. We haven’t told the kids about Darby yet. I didn’t want to send them to school today, upset. We will probably tell them tonight so that they have the weekend to recover from the news. They all adored Darby very much.

Such a beautiful kitty. My family got a Siamese cat when we lived on Guam. Parents said we wouldn’t bring her back to the states when our time there was up. We did. She sat in a little cardboard crate on my lap in the Pan Am 747. She lapped orange juice off of my fingers. No quarantine (weird) and she lived to be 20 years old. Really, it is no joke.

    Her name? Henrietta
    We called her Hank.

    hehe

I have been reading your blog for a while, and I love the stories you tell about your kids and about your adventures with them. It’s nice to know us mommies aren’t alone and we are all having this wonderful experience together.

I’m so sorry for your current situation with your son (although I’m glad he going to be ok) your dog (that’s the most terrible feeling), and you money woes.

Write me and let me know what i can do to help you out. I am truly offering, it would be my pleasure.

    Best Wishes and prayers!

What a cute picture. Sometimes my kitty jumps into the tub after I’ve showered and drinks drips of water from the faucet. You’d think I never fill up her water bowl!
