Sometimes I wish I had something that would record the conversations in this house throughout the day. Because there are times when quoting the children just doesn’t capture the full impact of what they are saying. The audience really needs to hear the tone and inflection.
Ah well. Can’t have everything, can we?
Here are the latest gems from my children.
Girl, 4.9 yrs: “Oh. Sorry. My bad.”
Girl: “Sweet dreams, cupcake.”
Girl: “Good times.” *nods head knowingly* “Good times.”
Demo-Boy, 3 yrs: “I’m evil.”
Me: “No you aren’t!”
Demo-Boy: “Yes I am. I’m Megatron!”
Demo-Boy: “What’s up potatah-head?!”
Demo-Boy: “What’s up macaroni-cheese-head?!”
Demo-Boy: “What’s up, Crap-head!”
Snoring Daddy: “Did you just call me crap-head?”
Demo-Boy: “No.”
*pause*
Demo-Boy: “What’s up Mr. Krabs-head?”
The children refer to their father as Mr. Krabs because he’s so cheap.
. . . And he loves money.

Oldest Boy, 6 yrs: “Daddy you need to come up here, because B is becoming a problem.” (B would be the 3 year old and to truly appreciate this quote you really need to hear the exasperation in his voice.)
Oldest Boy: “Hey mom, we need to buy some of these.”
Me: “Why? Do you know that they are?
Oldest Boy: *shrugs* “I don’t know. Tide-To-Go.”
Me: “What do you think we would use them for?”
Oldest Boy: “Well, sometimes we get stains.”
Me: “Nah. We don’t need them.”
Oldest Boy: “Sorry!” *clearly in a full-blown huff now* “I didn’t mean to set fire to your mind!”
*stomps off*
Me: What. The. Hell?
