Melina goes to the Zoo

The girl likes to tell stories. The trouble is you can never tell if its a story entirely of her own imagination or if its inspired or derived from a book or cartoon–unless you have seen the book or cartoon she’s getting it from.

Regardless, her stories are always entertaining and–if you can follow them–show a great deal of creative potential.

I recorded several versions of her latest story about Melina this evening and here I’m sharing a short version for your entertainment (also I can’t seem to find my video editing software and I can only upload 100 MB to the various platforms, thus you get the blessing of a short video instead of something much longer).

This 42 second segment reveals a lot about our four year old’s personality. Sometimes I’m awed by the possibilities her future holds–at others I’m a tad bit frightened.

Please don’t be alarmed by the “dead zebra” reference. She picked that up from the Sedgewick County Zoo. In the lion exhibit there is a mauled fake half-eaten zebra along the trail. It’s really quite disturbing, however, my delicate little flower is utterly unphased.
