Goodbye Maggie

Maggie, the black and white kitty we took in from a friend had to find a new place to live. She sliced into my four year old one to many times–and my daughter didn’t even do anything. This time she nearly took out the four year old’s eye! Just a sixteenth of an inch lower on the eyelid and she would have had damaged her eyeball. Furthermore, we suspect that the wound on Mickey’s foot was from a cat fight with Maggie. The vet said it was a cat bite and Maggie has never taken to any of the other cats and particularly hated Mickey.

But we found her a home where she will be the only kitty and there are no children.

She could be quite sweet when she wanted to be–but she was just too unpredictable. Quite frankly, she had a pschotic streak. She would turn on us at the drop of a hat and I couldn’t take any more risks that she would harm one of the kids seriously. As it was, she drew blood way too many times.

I hope she will be happy in her new home. I wish we could have been her forever home. But sometimes it just doesn’t work out. At least we got her vaccinated and spayed while we had her.

Good Luck Maggie in your new home. I hope you will be happy.

Thankfully, Molly the tabby is fitting in nicely, she and Jack our european shorthair tabby are like pees in a pod. She’s not as affectionate as Maggie was, but she also doesn’t draw blood for no reason either. Always a plus, in my opinion.

Having to get rid of pets has always torn my heart apart. Even when it is necessary it hurts too bad. I’ll do it, but have pangs of pain years later.

Glad you found her a good home and that no other children will be harmed during the making of this story.
